Balance and Swing
Some Assembly is a Southern Maryland-based ensemble that has been entertaining audiences throughout the Baltimore–Washington region for more than 20 years. The band is a favorite at contradances, folk dances, festivals, pubs, community fundraisers, and private celebrations.
Drawing on traditional music from Ireland, Scotland, England, the Canadian Maritimes, and the United States, Some Assembly blends timeless melodies with contemporary compositions, including original works by band member Mary Corletta Flora. Influenced by backgrounds in classical, jazz, and traditional music, the group's sound is both polished and energetic—equally at home providing lively music for dancing or an engaging performance for audiences who simply want to listen.
